Okay, I just want to get this out of the way…It took me like three years to finally read the Hunger Games trilogy.  I don’t know why I had such a hard time getting past the first couple chapters of “The Hunger Games”, but once I did I seriously flew through “Catching Fire” and “Mockingjay”.  I went from kind of hating the books to thinking they may actually be the three best books I have ever read in the span of one weekend.  Needless to say, my world was a little shaken over the May long weekend.

CD jacket for The Hunger Games soundtrack

Anyway, yesterday I finally got a chance to pick up the Hunger Games soundtrack that I’ve been waiting for for about three months from my local library.  I’m telling you about it here since it is the soundtrack from the movie based on the books, and I did read said books.  In case I’m not the only one who apparently lives under a rock, I think you should know that the soundtrack is AMAZING, and a perfect complement to the film and books.  Surprisingly, Kid Cudi might be my favourite artist on it (seriously, you could knock me down with a feather).  It’s got a really strong sound, and while I haven’t seen the movie yet, the soundtrack kind of paints you a picture of the key moments from the book.

Final, unrelated thoughts: I’m trying to map out the best way to construct a post about some of my favourite books that I read around Christmas last year and earlier this year to give the abyss of the world wide web some kind of idea of the kinds of books I like, and maybe even the way that I rate things.  You’ll likely even be treated to some haikus! because for some reason I try and write one for every book I read.  Later internets!
