No Friend As Loyal

There is no friend as loyal as a book.

Excuse me?

2014-01-31 14.52.11I usually ignore most of the posters around campus, but I really take exception to this one.  My problem is the use of the word “only”. Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer? Really? Because I can think of a few more.

What about books? An education? Mutual funds? Art? Real estate? Fine antiques? Vintage cars?

Part of me really wants to take a Sharpie to the rest of these posters and do some editing.  “Travel is the only one thing you buy that makes you richer.” Much better.
